Recipe Zine Swap In-Person
In celebration of the 2026 UCSB Reads book, Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner, join us for a zine making session and recipe swap. Zines (pronounced "zeens," short for magazines) are small, self-published booklets created and distributed by individuals or small groups. Zines are a cornerstone of DIY culture, offering an accessible platform for sharing ideas, art, and stories outside of traditional publishing.
Bring your ideas and we'll provide all the supplies for creating your own recipe booklet. This event is all about sharing our stories and connecting with others through food. Participants are encouraged to document a recipe they love and interweave it with a personal narrative or story. The content of the zine is up to your artistic interpretation! At the end of the event, we will photocopy our work so that we can swap our zines with others.
